Lorelei found a baby praying mantis. It is the smallest I have ever seen. She brought it to me and said, “Mama look! It’s so tiny and even though it’s never going to get very big, it’s still the mightiest ninja bug of all. It’s like it doesn’t know it’s small. Or maybe doesn’t care. It just says, ‘Bring it on.’”

Then she giggled, told it it was doing a good job, and set it free.

It really made me think about how many small battles I win and fail to acknowledge day to day — the little victories that ultimately matter more to my success than just reaching my goals. A fingertip perspective on just how big the small stuff is, from the mouth of a babe.
